Boys basketball – Quadri Moore, Sr., F, Linden

The Cincinnati recruit helped Linden sweep the season series from rival Patrick School in a showdown of two of the state’s top five teams with 23 points and 7 rebounds in a 68-64 classic on Jan. 30. Moore had 21 of his points in the second half and also had a crucial steal to help seal the win.

Girls basketball – Samantha McClutchy, Fr., G, Westwood

The freshman guard stepped up with a game-high 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a 61-54 win over Midland Park that put Westwood into the quarterfinals of the Bergen County Tournament for the first time since 1988.

Wrestling – Kris Lindemann, So., 132 pounds, Howell

Lindemann scored a 16-8 major decision over two-time state medalist and two-time Region VI champion Joe Ghione of Brick Memorial for a huge win at 132 pounds that helped propel the Rebels to a 28-27 upset of the Mustangs for Howell’s first Shore Conference Tournament title in school history.

Boys bowling – Bobby Weisensee, Sr., A.L. Johnson

Weisensee tied his career high by rolling a 278 in the final game to help A.L. Johnson scored a comeback win over Linden to capture its fourth straight Union County Tournament title. Weisensee is part of a senior group that won the county title in every year of their careers.

Girls indoor track – Paige Petty, Fr., Bernards

The freshman standout won the 1,600-meter run in 5:22.84 and the 3,200-meter race in 11:26.6, setting a meet record in the 3,200, to help Bernards capture its seventh straight North Jersey Section II, Group I title. Since the sectional meets for indoor track began being held in 2008, Bernards is the only team in New Jersey to win a sectional title every year.
