Two New Jersey men have been indicted for the fatal stabbing of a Texas man and the wounding of his co-worker.

A grand jury handed up the indictments Thursday charging Shaquan Johnson with murder and Dyron White with aggravated assault. Both men are in their early 20s from Roselle.

The charges stem from an incident at a hotel in Somerset at about 1:30 a.m. on New Year's Day. Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano says Johnson fatally stabbed Chad Robertson, who had come to the aid of co-worker Frederick Tijerina after he'd become involved in an altercation with several people.

The 30-year-old Robertson, a father of five from Shoreacres, Tex., was pronounced dead at the scene. He and the 29-year-old Tijerina were in the area working on an environmental project.
