With the temperature at 36 degrees, and gusty winds making it feel like 26 degrees, the tems called off their Eastern League game.

The official reason cited was "unplayable field conditions." Team spokesman Chris Cameron says the ground froze solid overnight and was slow to thaw out.

Initially, it was believed to be the Sea Dogs' first postponement due to cold weather, but Cameron says it may have happened one other time in the 1990s.

The Sea Dogs, a Boston Red Sox affiliate, will make up the game with a July 2 doubleheader. They are counting on warmer weather when the teams meet Sunday.

Trenton's parent club is the New York Yankees.
