Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine lists the Trenton-Ewing-Princeton area as 3rd best in the nation for families after Des Moines, Iowa and Manchester, New Hampshire.

Marc Wojno, a Senior Associate Editor, says, "After reviewing data from 361 metropolitan statistical areas, Trenton ranks up there as number 3 for families, for the family demographic. One of the metrics we use in categorizing this particular category is education - teachers and students…And in the Trenton area- nearby - you've got Princeton University, and there are also other top-flight schools and universities, both private and public. But, definitely top-flight public schools that help make this an area that's ideal for families and parents raising children."

He says another positive factor is the diverse work-force.

"People that cover various educational careers - that deal with science and engineering and business and also arts and entertainment…And in the Trenton area, you also have Mercer County offering a lot of abundant, country-run recreation centers as well - and that's within driving distance…And also the close proximity to the Jersey Shore, and the Pocono Mountains is one of the highlights."

"Of course, there are some lovely affluent neighborhoods around the city that help factor in the ranking for Trenton."
