The Changing Philadelphia Accent

America has a number of distinctive accents like the New England accent, a New York accent, a southern accent and according to Dennis, the most annoying on all, the Philadelphia accent.

Dennis' hate for the accent is understandable. When he was looking to start a career in broadcasting he took classes in order to lose his South Philadelphia sound.

University of Pennsylvania professors Bill Labov  & Josef Fruenwalk tell WCAU TV their research show the "classic" Philadelphia accent is changing and moving towards more "northern" traits.
