Several water main breaks in New Jersey caused massive delays on Route 78, and closed a section of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail as well as Route 202 in Somerset County.

The extreme temperatures that have plagued New Jersey and the rest of the Northeast in recent weeks have put extra stress on the state's infrastructure. Some New Jersey water companies are reporting a 30 percent increase in water main breaks.

The water company that serves most of Hoboken has lifted a boil water advisory that was issued in the wake of some recent pipe and water main breaks.
