October 3rd, 1999 - Tom Jones goes to No.1 with his new album 'Reload', making the singer the oldest artist to score a No.1 album with new material. The album featured a collaboration with DJ Mousse T which was later used in an episode of The Simpsons.
September 26th, 1981 - The Go-Go's started a six-week run at No.1 with their debut album 'Beauty And The Beat.' It would go on to become one of the most successful debut albums of all time selling in excess of two million copies.
September 12th, 1997 - Stig Anderson, manager, songwriter, and producer for Abba dies of a heart attack. Anderson co-wrote many of Abba's greatest hits such as 'Mamma Mia', 'Dancing Queen', 'Waterloo'.
September 5th, 1981 - Stevie Nicks goes to No.1 on the album charts with Bella Donna. The album features Tom Petty on ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’, and Don Henley on ‘Leather and Lace’.
