"The war in Ukraine is certainly going to exacerbate those concerns," said John Froonjian, director of the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University.
"As gaming expands nationally, as we face more and more competition from neighboring jurisdictions, there's even more of an impetus to figure out how to make this work," said Sarah Grady, with Stockton University.
The very successful Stockton Maple Project is expanding to seven more hubs to not only produce more syrup, but to take part in research to determine the viability of the industry.
Public colleges and universities across New Jersey updated their websites this month and sent out alerts to remind everyone of their participation in Garden State Guarantee, which begins with the 2022-23 academic year.
"What we're seeing now is something that we haven't seen before in the eight-plus years that New Jersey has had online gaming," said PlayNJ.com's David Danzis.
