The Coalition to Save Westminster Choir College in Princeton said they have hired Princeton lawyer Bruce Afran to help separate the school from Rider and return it to the independent status it had before Rider bought the school in 1991.
The vote comes as the Mercer County college tries to map out its financial future in the face of declining enrollment and announced its plan to put the Westminster Choir College up for sale as a step to fend off a potential $13 billion deficit.
Princeton Public Schools explained that it needs to get started now on becoming a "viable bidder" for Westminster Choir College's property because it cannot move as "nimbly" as a private group.
