A New Jersey judge has approved a $190 million settlement with the last remaining defendant stemming from lawsuits filed over pollution in the Passaic River.
Authorities have identified a body found by workers cleaning Tropical Storm Irene debris from a northern New Jersey river as an elderly Paterson man who has been missing for more than a month.
New Jersey officials are planning an update regarding the ongoing cleanup efforts of major portions of the Passaic River. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. will be joined Monday by several other state and federal officials at the Diamond Alkali Superfund site in Newark to announce cleanup plans for that part of the river.
