California and Minnesota are the only two states with tax systems worse than New Jersey's, in the national Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council's "Business Tax Index 2014: Best to Worst State Tax Systems for Entrepreneurship and Small Business."

The business tax climate in New Jersey ranked 49th this year out of all 50 states, according to a new report from the Tax Foundation. Only New York received a lower score.
