After six months of helping to remove debris, repair homes, and helping the Shore recover from Sandy, Clean Ocean Action's Waves of Action program moves into its next phase.
More than 1,200 volunteers will hit the marshes, parks, beaches and communities from Cape May to Staten Island this Saturday for "Marsh Madness," and effort organized by Clean Ocean Action, to continue post-Sandy clean up efforts for the spring.
It is Waves of Action day today, and COA is calling for volunteers to head out to locations around New Jersey and New York to help communities recover and rebuild from super-storm Sandy.
Hundreds of volunteers from the metro area will be engaging in a variety of projects to help in Super Storm Sandy relief as part of Clean Ocean Action's first Waves of Action.
The Clean Ocean Action environmental group will cover the New Jersey and New York shoreline this summer in an organizing campaign to build support for federal laws protecting the ocean.
