The former mayor of a southern New Jersey town has been sentenced to six months in prison for evading taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars he got from an insurance broker over several years.
Former Toms River Mayor and Councilman Carmine Inteso might spend up to five years in prison at his scheduled April sentencing for federal income tax evasion. He pleaded guilty today in Newark.
