We have an update this morning on the horrific and tragic story of Scotty McMillan.  The adorable red headed little boy was tortured and killed by his mother and her boyfriend in Pennsylvania.  The community is now focused on Scotty's older brother.  6-year-old Ryan is in protective custody.  Neighbors and strangers from around the world are coming together to help with clothing, toys and notes of support. Hoping to show him he is loved and trying to make sure he can have the best Christmas he can have.

Today marks the end of the 21-day Ebola incubation period for nurse Kaci Hickox. But she says she will continue to speak out on behalf of public health workers. Hickox says she is concerned about how casually people talk about quarantine. Once considered an extreme measure.  As for returning to help with Ebola in West Africa, Hickox said she'd do it an heartbeat.

Even if you love this state and want to stay here, can you actually afford to retire in New Jersey? A new Monmouth University-Asbury Park Press poll shows taxes are driving people out and some want to get out soon.

Heavy snow and plunging temperatures are expected to hit the upper Midwest this week, dropping as much as a foot of snow on the region and pushing temperatures down by as much as 40 degrees overnight. The wet, frigid weather that pelted parts of Montana and the Dakotas with up to 3 inches of snow on Sunday is crawling into Minnesota and Wisconsin today. Temperatures in some places could drop by as much as 40 degrees in a single day.

Accidental poisonings from squishy laundry detergent packets called pods have landed more than 700 U.S. children in the hospital in just two years. Poison center data shows there were more than 17,000 center calls about the products involving children younger than 6. Some of those who were hospitalized suffered seizures and some fell into a coma. One even died last year.

Should retailers open on Thanksgiving?  With just a couple weeks to go, many New Jersey stores are wresting with that decision.  If they don't, they fear loosing money.  Nordstrom and Costco says it's not worth it. Their employees deserve time with their families. JC Penny and Macy's are among those saying they will be open early on Thanksgiving Day.

As Garden State lawmakers consider how to regulate drones, to protect people’s privacy, testing of the unmanned aerial devices is being stepped up in south Jersey.

There’s been another robbery of a Rutgers student.  A group of men attacked the victim early Sunday morning near the New Brunswick campus.  They arrested one of the attackers but three got away.  Police are increasing patrols.  This is the 5th Rutgers robbery in recent weeks.

This is a strange story and it has many drivers furious.  On Halloween Day in Fort Lee Police had a gut dressed in a Donald Duck costume walking back and forth in a crosswalk.  Drivers who did not stop got pulled over and got a $230 ticket.  But many of those drivers are furious, saying it was a set-up. And most thought it was just some crazy guy jumping on and off the curb.

Several major sandy-recovery projects will be underway this winter.

How would you like to lower your property tax bill by 25-percent with just one vote? Assemblyman Reed Gusciora wants to amend the constitution to make it a reality and he hopes his legislation actually gains traction.

A young man fighting with his father in Stafford Township, ended up biting a police officer who was trying to break up the fight.  The dad had gotten a restraining order against his son and police were trying to remove him from the home when sank his teeth into the officer wrist.  He'll be ok.

A North Jersey man is lucky to be alive this morning after getting grazed by a New Jersey transit train in Hackensack.  24-year old Marco Calvo was on the tracks trying to take a photo of the train.  He tried to jump out of the way as the train approached and hit his hand.

There's a growing trend in New Jersey for pet owners mourning the loss of their four-legged friends.

Politics:  Jeb Bush is about 50-50 on making a run for the GOP Presidential nomination.  But his brother says he's all-in on the idea.  Former president George W. Bush thinks his brother would make a great president. But says he's not pushing him one way or the other.

A police officer in Ocean County responding to a call, hit and killed a man who was walking in the road.  It happened in Manchester Township.  The officer did try to swerve to avoid him but 23-year-old Keith Atkinson was hit by the side of the cruiser.

An aging population, specifically the baby boomers, means a much greater demand for home health care. The industry is doing its best to brace for the growth.

For years customer service at NJ Transit was basically non-existent but a new effort is underway to be more responsive to suggestions and try to give people what they want.

A standoff with police ends with a 35-year old man in jail this morning.  It started after the guy stabbed a female relative several times in the hallway of an apartment complex then holed up inside for several hours.  Police eventually talked him out.  The victim is being treated at the hospital.

With the American dream project still stalled in the Meadowlands, two newly elected east Rutherford councilmen say no public money should be used.  The city is considering half a billion dollars in public financing for the project which has sat unfinished for years.
