State Trooper Injured During Parkway Traffic Stop
A New Jersey State Trooper was injured when his cruiser was struck during a traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway Sunday morning.
NBC 10 reports the officer was speaking with the driver of a Nissan he had pulled over on the northbound side around Exit 63 (Route 72) in Manahawkin when another car hit the cruiser, pushing it into the Nissan around 8:30 a.m. The officer and two others were injured.
One of the vehicles caught fire, according to 6 ABC.
The road was closed for a time as a medical helicopter was brought in to take two of the injured to Atlantic City Trauma Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
