Mike Trout chuckles at the memory of his major league debut. As a raw 19-year-old with minimal minor-league experience, his head was often spinning during two call-ups over nine weeks with the Los Angeles Angels.

One season later, at the ripe old age of 20, Trout feels he's much more prepared to do his thing.

Trout has been on a tear since Los Angeles promoted him five weeks ago, batting .303 with five homers and 16 RBIs in 30 games. He has established himself as a speedy leadoff hitter and a phenomenal left fielder who catches just about anything hit his way.

The son of a former minor leaguer from southern New Jersey appears ready for a permanent role with the Angels.
