Some Get Snow From Sandy
While most of the eastern U.S. is being pelted with rain, some areas are expecting blizzard conditions as the superstorm blows across the region.
More than a dozen counties in West Virginia are under a blizzard warning as high winds and heavy, wet snow moves through the state. Up to 3 feet of snow may fall in the mountains.
In mountainous western Maryland, there’s a blizzard warning for sections of Garrett County beginning tonight.
The storm is expected to bring snow to far southeastern Kentucky. A winter storm warning is in effect in Harlan, Letcher and Pike counties through Wednesday morning. Forecasters say snow could accumulate from 4 to 10 inches in high elevations and 1 to 3 inches in lower elevations.
Snow is expected in the higher elevations of Tennessee and in some areas of Ohio.
