Snow slows drivers on afternoon commute
Drivers are taking it slower on the roads as snow begins to fall across New Jersey.
The New Jersey Turnpike has reduced the speed limit to 45 miles per hour between Exit 1 (Delaware Memorial Bridge) and Exit 6 (Pennsylvania Turnpike extension) as the snow begins to fall. The speed limit on the Betsy Ross Bridge is down to 35 miles per hour as bridges and overpasses are often the first to freeze.
Townsquare Meteorologist Dan Zarrow expects the heaviest snow from the storm to fall during the afternoon commute into the evening with snow lingering overnight.
New Jersey Transit will be cross-honoring tickets systemwide for the rest of Wednesday and all day Thursdsay.
The weather is also having an effect on flight at Philadelphia International with delays of over an hour on borh arrivals and departures according to FlightAware.com
