The Federal Aviation Administration said the Cessna C150, with only the pilot aboard, landed on Route 23 in West Milford on Thursday.

No vehicles were hit by the plane and the aircraft did not appear to sustain any major damage. It landed around 1 p.m. and was removed from the highway by 2:30 p.m.

All lanes are now reopened.

The plane was registered to 51-year-old Christopher Okechukwu, of Paramus.

One driver, Andrew May, tells WABC-TV that the pilot glided to the highway. He says the pilot was shaken but not injured.
