A new piece of legislation is awaiting Governor Chris Christie's signature that would require most new police cars to be equipped with video cameras.

Assemblyman Paul Moriarty is sponsoring the bill that would make any new or leased police cruisers equipped with video cameras to record any and all traffic stops.

According to Kevin McArdle's report, the cameras would start would be activated when a police officer turns on the overhead lights and it would not turn off until the lights are turned off also.
