ATLANTIC CITY — A man wanted in connection with a shooting in the city gambled and lost after he was seen inside the Resorts Hotel and Casino by an employee on Saturday morning, and arrested on his way out.

The Atlantic City Police Department announced that Sharod Taylor, 29, was wanted in connection to an incident in the Venice Park section of city on Jan. 25 when the ShotSpotter system was activated. An investigation into the shooting showed there were no injuries reported. Taylor was identified as a suspect in the shooting after an investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit.

While the intended victim has not been identified, two search warrants have helped the investigation, directed by Sgt. Joseph Iacovone, and Det. Joseph Procopio to gather more evidence for the case.

Taylor was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon. He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
