PRINCETON — Glimmerdark is, according to organizers, "an unconventional faerie festival." That is to say it's not your run-of-the-mill gathering of mythical and mystical creatures.

The first annual Glimmerdark slots in to organizer Jeff Mach's festival lineup roughly in place of Wicked Faire, which until last year welcomed imaginative folks of all stripes to mix and mingle at the Hyatt Regency just off of Route 1.

And it continued Wicked's inclusive mission — welcoming creatives of all types to indulge their inner spirits, sprites, science fiction heres and fantasy personals.

So, at Glimmerdark, you'll find faeries, but you'll also find pirates and steampunkers and Jedis. There are presentations and classes on magic, bellydancing, body-painting, alchemy, hula-hooping, juggling and even "consent-based flirting."  There's a packed schedule that runs through the Sunday. One-day passes are $40 at the door for Saturday, and $20 at the door Sunday. VIP and full-weekend passes are available as well.

Jeff Mach events is also the force behind the annual Steampunk World's Fair in Piscataway. See images from his other gatherings below:
