RV Catches Fire on George Washington Bridge
A RV that caught fire on the George Washington Bridge has stopped traffic on one New Jersey-bound lane and forced authorities to evacuate the George Washington Bus Station.
A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says the vehicle caught fire around 5 p.m. Thursday. He says the fire has been put out and the RV is being removed. There were no injuries reported. Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
The spokesman said the George Washington Bus Station was evacuated due to smoke from the RV fire. Authorities are using fans to vent the smoke from the station.
