Rutgers Names Biomedical School Chancellor
Rutgers has named its inaugural chancellor for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Brian Strom will assume the position on December 2, the school announced Thursday.
Strom is executive vice dean for institutional affairs of the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. He oversaw a program in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics at Penn and founded an international network that assists professionals in developing nations in better understanding disease. He established the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Penn.
Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences was formed from schools and institutes that made up the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey combined with existing Rutgers University units such as the Rutgers College of Nursing and the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
