The board is scheduled to meet Wednesday afternoon.

Tuition and fees rose 2.3 percent last year to $26,185 for in-state residents enrolled in Rutgers' arts and sciences program in New Brunswick, using the most popular dining plan and living in a traditional residence hall.

The board voted to raise tuition by about 2 percent in 2014 and by 3.3 percent in 2013.
