The event took place late Wednesday afternoon on the school's campus in Glassboro.

The new building will be a three-story, 90,500-square-foot structure. Its projected cost is $71 million, and construction is expected to be completed during the 2016-17 school year.

The project and the construction of new facilities for Rowan's Rohrer College of Business are expected to create more than 550 construction jobs and generate more than $180 million in economic activity. The projects also should create more than 100 permanent positions in Glassboro.
