Rockaway Home Fire Kills Two

A mother and son have died in an early Friday morning fire in Rockaway Township.

First assistant Morris County prosecutor Thomas Zelante tells the Daily Record of Parsippany the fire did not appear suspicious.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims. But homeowner Brent Decker tells the newspaper his 58-year-old wife and 17-year-old son perished in the blaze.

The fire began before 6 a.m. in the two-story home on Green Pond Road, a few blocks from Lake Telemark.
