When the Revel casino opens in April, it will have many more part-time jobs than the other 11 casinos in Atlantic City.

Revel CEO Kevin DeSanctis tells The Associated Press the casino wants to avoid having to demote full-time workers into part-time workers if business volumes don't support the number of workers the casino hired to open with.

Relying on documents it got from a state public records request, The Press of Atlantic City reports Revel's part-time work force will be about 37 percent, compared with 12 percent citywide.

But DeSanctis says those numbers reflect only the jobs eligible for training under a particular state grant. They exclude upper management jobs, as well as retail and restaurant jobs owned by vendors.
