Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes To Divorce [VIDEO]
TMZ is reporting that Toms Cruise and Katie Holmes are ending their marriage.
6 years after Cruise jumped up and down on a couch on Oprah Winfrey’s show to declare his love for Holmes, Katie’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe released a statement saying, “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family.”
Wolfe adds, “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
TMZ reports that according to the divorce papers, which “blindsided” Cruise, Holmes cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She is asking for sole legal custody and “primary residential custody” of daughter Suri.
“Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out,” said Cruise’s rep in a statement.
TMZ says that Holmes has been in New York in recent days still wearing her wedding ring while Cruise, who stars in Rock Of Ages, is filming a movie in Iceland.
Just last month Cruise told People in an interview he loved her ‘creativity’ and claiming their relationship was ‘very special’.
They have one daughter, Suri.
