Last weekend’s weather turned out to be surprisingly cool—a nice break from the dreadful heat Jersey’s been feeling lately! July 24th also marked the halfway point for the 2016 Big Joe Jersey Talent Show. I can’t believe how quickly this competition is moving, only three weeks left before semi-finals start – which will showcase the best of the best of this year’s show.

The competition between each performer was intense, but it always warms my heart seeing contestants cheer each other on. I hope that every contestant continues to follow their passion, whether that be singing, dancing, or entertaining in general. Out of all the incredible talent we saw onstage, the audience voted for Karen Hardy, Ava Giglia and Kayla Raparelli to move on to the semi-finals. Congratulations!

Lastly, I’d like to say thank you to our sponsors, who we wouldn’t be able to do the talent show without. Portrait Recording Studios, who is giving out a priceless grand prize of a recording package, which includes full audio recording and mixing for a single song, a recorded and edited video for that song, and much more! World Wide Piano of Edison, who is giving away an acoustic Hallet Davis & Co. 45″ studio piano. And BuyDig.com, who gets to spend every Sunday night with the Jersey Prize Team, giving out beach goodies and coupons for their website, which sells almost every electronic imaginable and offers free shipping!

Like I said, we’re halfway through the summer-long competition. The talent is unbelievable, and if you haven’t made it to Point Pleasant or Jenkinson’s yet, please do! I invite you to join us for an evening of wonderful talent, starting at 7pm. We hope to see you there!
