Gov. Chris Christie tells a crowd of GOP donors that Mitt Romney is the best qualified candidate to be their next president.

Romney and Christie appeared at a fundraiser in Parsippany Monday night that raised $1.1 million for the former Massachusetts governor's presidential campaign. Romney will use the money to compete in early primary states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

Earlier, Christie, who briefly considered running for the White House, said he was not concerned about recent polls showing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich moving ahead of Romney.

General admission tickets went for $500 for the event at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany. VIP receptions awaited those donating $2,500 or bundling such donations.
