The party before, after and during the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside is always a big one, but the folks hanging around the boardwalk after Saturday's big event had plenty to celebrate — the Plunge raised more than $1.7 Million for Special Olympics New Jersey.

P— more than 6,000 people headed into the not-quite-frigid-but-still-plenty-cold waters off the Seaside Heights Boardwalk Saturday.

We saw plenty of smiles from people there to support the good cause — and from the Special Olympics athletes who benefit from the effort.
