A north Jersey hospital remains on lockdown this morning after a passenger was brought there from Newark airport with signs of Ebola.  The West African failed the new screening process in place at the airport and remains in isolation.  The CDC is doing blood tests to determine if this is Ebola or another infection. Meanwhile Governor Christie will get a readiness briefing on the state's response to Ebola this morning.

A top red cross official says he's confident the Ebola epidemic can be contained within four to six months if there is "good isolation and good treatment of the cases which are confirmed," as well as safe places for the dead to be buried.

The federal government is closing a gap in Ebola screening at airports. Travelers from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the hardest-hit countries, must now enter the U.S. Through one of five airports, where there is initial screening for the deadly virus. That includes Newark airport.  Some of those travelers have arrived in the U.S. At other airports and have avoided screening.

He has coached for 20-years and brought Sayreville three state titles but George Najar is out as Sayreville head coach.  The school board unanimously bounced him last night amid the sexual hazing scandal that killed the football program this year...and has seven players charged with raping underclassmen.

A new security warning for Apple iCloud users.  Apple says it is aware of a concerted effort to breach its servers and steal your personal data.  Apple says there has been no such breach.  The attacks are coming from hackers in China.

A pet bobcat is again on the loose in Ocean County.  Rocky went missing from Ginny Fine's home Tuesday morning.  This is not the first time he's gotten out...and a judge warned fine that she would loose her pet for good.  Animal control is now hunting the big cat and will take him to a zoo when they catch him.

With sites like YouTube and Facebook, and a cell phone in nearly everyone's pocket, we're getting more visual proof of people watching a violent scene right in front of them, and doing nothing about it. The latest, two teen girls attacked in Camden while a group of bystanders enjoyed the show.

Ray Rice is trying to get back into the NFL perhaps this season.  He has formally filed a grievance with the league over the termination of his contract by the Baltimore Ravens. Rice was booted from the team after the former Rutgers star was seen on video punching his fiance in the face and knocking her unconscious in a revel elevator.  If his appeal is upheld any team could sign him.

Homeland security officials are bracing for a huge spike in the number of illegals living in the U.S. seeking work permits.  It's expected President Obama will announce plans this year to protect millions of illegals from deportation and grant them work permits.  Homeland security has requested card stock to print up to 34-million such permits.

Gay marriage has been legal in jersey for one year and the result has been an economic boost for the state economy.

Facebook and twitter erupts into a firestorm of criticism of Governor Christie after a told a Washington audience he was tired of hearing about the minimum wage.  What Christie said was, he doesn't think parents sit around their kitchen tables hoping their children make a higher minimum wage. He said they aspire to more than that.  But democrats have seized on the comments to claim Christie is a rich republican out of touch with middle class and poor families.

Although he's not running for anything, this year is important for Governor Christie as chair of the republican governor's association. If he can help g-o-p candidates win in key states he gets a leg up in the 2016 run for president, but his chances could be hurt if he comes up short.

 

Police need your help to find a missing Atlantic City woman.  23-year old Sapphire Wiggans vanished last Wednesday.  Her 50-year old boyfriend was found dead from an apparent suicide days later. It's not known if there is a connection.

Almost a dozen mobsters tied to a new york-based crime family are facing charges in New Jersey following arrests yesterday in "operation fistful." the joint sting by garden state officials and New York's waterfront commission proves the mafia is still alive.

Real housewives star Teresa Giudice is still trying to keep herself out of jail, asking a judge to let her serve her 15-month tax evasion sentence in a halfway house instead of a prison in Manhattan or Brooklyn.  Prosecutors want her behind bars for her entire sentence on bankruptcy fraud.

A judge is expected to rule this week and determine if sports betting is legal in New Jersey.  The major pro sports leagues are asking to block sports wagers.  Monmouth park race track is planning to accept bets starting Sunday.

When it comes to passenger friendliness, Newark Liberty Airport comes in as fourth worst in the country in a new survey.
