Authorities are investigating a shooting that took place in a small Morris County borough Saturday night.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the shooting took place in Victory Gardens, a 1-square-mile municipality adjacent to Dover at about 11:23 p.m.

According to Lt. Charles Brady of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, authorities received 911 calls related to the incident and responded to the location. Brady said the shooting took place on the street, but added that there is "no current threat to the community" as a result of the incident.

Brady said due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, the Prosecutor's Office could not provide any additional information on the possible gunman, the victim or the circumstances of the incident. Authorities also would not comment on whether or not the shooting was fatal.
