MIDDLE TOWNSHIP — The pilot of a small plane that crashed in Cape May County was the only person injured during the incident Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the plane crashed in the Green Creek section of town around 1:45 on Sunday afternoon. The plane, according to police belongs to Paramount Air, and was preparing to land. While circling the area police say the plane lost power and crashed in a marshy area.

The pilot, identified only as a 20-year-old male, suffered cuts to his head as a result of the crash and was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
