Patient Safety Awareness Week in NJ
National Patient Safety Awareness Week is being recognized through Saturday by the New Jersey Hospital Association.
The theme this year is Patient Safety 7/365, reminding healthcare professionals and health consumers that providing safe patient care requires constant dedication and effort 365 days a year.
In the most recent report from the state Department of Health, New Jersey hospitals exceeded scores on 15 of 25 national measures; they were equal to the national figure on eight measures.
New Jersey ranked ninth nationwide across all healthcare quality and safety measures, according to the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Best Performing States report.
