The White House meeting scheduled for Friday comes after Obama announced a substantial change to the law. The president said Thursday that insurance companies can offer people another year of coverage under their existing plans. That's because people have been losing coverage and haven't been able to find new plans on the balky HealthCare.gov website.

A White House official says Obama and senior aides will meet with CEOs to discuss helping people enroll in new plans and will talk about ways to minimize any disruptions as consumers switch to new plans. The official was not authorized to speak publicly in advance about the meeting and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Vote coming in the House on measure to cancel cancellations

It's the House's move today after President Barack Obama had his say on reversing millions of insurance cancellations issued under the new health care program.

House Republicans are expected to push through a bill today to permit companies to continue to sell the plans. It's all in response to massive anger over the cancellations.
