President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden plan to mark the end of the war in Iraq at a ceremony Tuesday at Joint Base Andrews in nearby Maryland.

The White House says the president and vice president will participate in a ceremony welcoming home U.S. troops from Iraq.

Obama marked the end of the Iraq war last week, meeting with troops at Fort Bragg, N.C., and welcoming Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to the White House.

The withdrawal ends a nearly 9-year war in which nearly 4,500 Americans were killed, about 32,000 were wounded and hundreds of billions of dollars were spent.
