North Jersey landlord-tenant dispute ends in murder

A landlord-tenant dispute in ends with one man dead and another charged with his murder in Hasbrouck Heights.

Landlord John C. Wisse,83, got into an argument with 58-year-old Gerald Velardi, his downstairs tenant, at his Passaic Street home around 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon which led to Wisse shooting Velardi once in the chest with a .38 caliber handgun according to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli

Molinelli says Wisse called police and was taken into custody after police found him with the weapon..  He is currently being held on $750,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail.

An investigation continues into the incident by the Prosecutor's Office and Hasbrouck Heights police.
