New Jersey roads were slick Friday morning, with some secondary roads and highways snow-covered as the day's commute began.

As of 6 a.m., several minor accidents and spin, but no major incidents, were reported by New Jersey Fast Traffic. Speeds on the Garden State Parkway were reduced to 45 mph while the New Jersey Turnpike, Atlantic City Expressway and Ben Franklin Bridge had a speed of 35 MPH.

By 7 a.m., New Jersey 101.5 audience member Scott R. Schroppe wrote in a message to the station Route 18 South was "completely stopped."

State Police said that by 9:30 a.m., they'd already responded to dozens of accidents — 11 in North Jersey, 14 in Central Jersey, and 17 in South Jersey. There were 11 accidents on the Turnpike and 13 on the Parkway by that time, they said.

"Most of our residents woke up to snowfall this morning. Please be mindful that roads can be slushy and slick. Drive slower and allow you self extra time to get where you have to go," State Police wrote on their Facebook page.

Fast traffic's Bob Williams said motorists can expect a "slick and slushy" ride on Friday and should allow extra time for their drive.

No mass delays of flights in and out of Newark Liberty, JFK, LaGuardia and Philadelphia were being reported by FlightAware.com although many individual flights were being canceled.

NJ Transit, PATH and SEPTA had no reported problems.
