UNIVERSITY CITY, N.C — Former Wayne Hills quarterback Kevin Olsen threatened to kill himself and his girlfriend before hitting her in face and raping her three times, according to a North Carolina prosecutor.

Olsen, a quarterback for the University of North Carolina 49ers, was arrested in his off-campus apartment late Sunday afternoon and charged with second-degree forcible sexual offense, cyberstalking and assault on a female.

Charlotte coach Brad Lambert says he's aware of Olsen's arrest and the junior has been suspended from the team. In a statement, the university says it's "reviewing the case consistent with its disciplinary procedures."

At a bail hearing on Monday, assistant District Attorney Kristen Northrup reportedly described to a court the alleged events of the evening that led to charges for the 22-year-old.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Northrup said the woman, 23, whose identify was not disclosed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, became separated from Olsen while they were out on Saturday night. Olsen threatened to kill her in a text, but they got back together later in the evening and went to his apartment in University City, according to the prosecutor.

There, he threatened to wrap a phone charger cord around his own neck and kill himself, according to the newspaper, Northrup reportedly said.

Later in the evening, Clark hit his girlfriend with a pillow, slugged her in the face and then raped her three times, the report quotes the prosecutor saying. The woman got herself to a doctor after Olsen fell asleep, Northrup said.

Olsen's defense attorney denied the accusations. Olsen was released after posting $103,000 bond.

Olsen is the brother of Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen. Both played for their father Chris Olsen Jr. at Wayne Hills. His parents have since moved to North Carolina.

The Observer reported Olsen redshirted at Miami in 2013, but he left the following year after multiple suspensions.

He then transferred to Towson University in Maryland. According to the Baltimore Sun, Olsen was kicked off the team in 2015 for violating team rules.
