NJ Man Stabbed Trying to Break Up Street Fight

Authorities say a man was stabbed and critically injured when he tried to break up a street fight in northern New Jersey.

The Record (http://bit.ly/17fD8MX) reports that the fight started just before 1 a.m. Sunday, when two men apparently bumped into each other in Paterson. A 39-year-old city man quickly stepped in to stop the two brawlers but was soon stabbed in the chest.

The man remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition.

Authorities say an arrest has been made in connection with the stabbing, but details were not disclosed.
