Thomas Evans, 32, had been under investigation since fall of 2015 by the FBI, which expanded the case to include the Prosecutor's Office High Tech Crimes Unit and the Mount Laurel Police, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said Thursday.

Evans was arrested at his Country Club Lane home Wednesday morning on a warrant. Police said they removed digital storage devices Evans allegedly used to download and share the images.

Bernadri said Evans was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of children, knowingly distributing items depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child (second degree), knowingly possessing items depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child with the intent to distribute (second degree), knowingly storing or maintaining items depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child using a file-sharing program which is designated as available for searching by or copying to one or more other computers (second degree) and knowingly possessing, knowingly viewing, or knowingly having under his control, through any means, including the Internet.

Evans was being held at the Burlington County Jail with bail set at $150,000. He was scheduled to be in court on Thursday afternoon according to Bernardi.
