Lori Pepenella, Destination Marketing Director of the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce says after Super Storm Sandy the Chamber's new Marketing Committee, made up of Chamber members came up with branding, a website and video for its "We Are LBI" campaign.

Pepenella says the campaign features a web site and video that highlights the barrier island's simple pleasures.

"When you come to LBI you come to relax. You come to spend quality time. So you know we're very excited that this year we were able to have preserved that and to certainly bring it back even stronger then ever."

She says its part their continuing efforts to overcome the misconceptions that the Jersey Shore remains devastated beyond repair by the storm.

"We been trying in different ways, through traditional advertising, in doing travel shows but there still was a core audience that our Chamber wanted to reach and that was a result of the 'We Are LBI' website and video."

In a press release, Marketing Committee Chairman Jeremy DeFilippis issued a message.

"It became clear that there was some negative perspective on the Chamber's post-Sandy efforts within our community so I set out improve that by forming a Marketing Committee and rolling out a plan. Even with a small budget to start, we can reach our members, community and tourists by spreading our new campaign."

The video is a fast paced montage of LBI's natural resources, businesses, landmark's and people all wrapped in music. You can check out the video below.
