TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The perpetual political candidate who calls himself Weedman has lost his legal struggle to get back on November's ballot for a congressional seat.

The Times of Trenton reports that a federal judge dismissed Ed Forchion's lawsuit on Tuesday. Forchion had filed the suit late last month, asking the court to issue an injunction to block the printing of the ballot for the state's 3rd Congressional District.

Forchion was thrown off the ballot earlier this year after election officials found he did not have the required 100 valid signatures on his nominating petition. He appealed the decision, but was told to produce the transcripts from a previous court hearing.

Forchion has argued that requirement should be waived, because he doesn't have the nearly $4,000 that the transcripts could cost.
