It took Wyckoff's Paul Rosolie most of the 70 minute broadcast to show viewers the promised  25-foot anaconda snake in the Amazon jungle, according to USA Today, after passing on smaller snakes and encountering other creatures.

With 20 minutes left in the show, Rosolie finally suited up for the big bite but did not get fully "eaten" according to the New York Post. The snake, which was already in captivity, bit Rosolie's helmet-protected head but he did not get swallowed whole. Instead, the snake only bit over his shoulders and injured Rosolie's arm.

VIewers tweeted their displeasure with the show's outcome. " was a pretty big disappointment. Dude didn't even come close to getting eaten. Should have called it "squeezed alive," tweeted @MTTeplicek. "What do I and the guy on have in common? Neither of us has ever been eaten alive!" reads a tweet by @BWC1019.

Although the name of the special was "Eaten Alive," Rosolie told Townsquare Media his  true goal with the stunt was to bring attention to the true nature of anacondas "and to protect the ecosystem that they live in." He added that anacondas are "this big, charismatic species that people are terrified of They're actually a force of good in the world."
