Man gets 10-year sentence for heroin distribution scheme

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- A southern New Jersey man has been sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison for his involvement in a scheme to distribute heroin in the Atlantic County area.

Federal prosecutors say 30-year-old Nassaun Hines, of Pleasantville, also must serve five years of supervised release under the sentence imposed Tuesday. He received a 110-month term.

Hines had pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute 100 to 400 grams of heroin and possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon.

Hines admitted that from January 2009 through May 2010, he sold quantities of heroin in Atlantic County and conspired with others in connection with his drug trafficking activity.
