Ocean County prosecutors say 26-year-old Marcus Samuels, of Bayville, also faces three weapons counts stemming from Monday's shooting of Willie Love III. They say Samuels turned himself in Friday night after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.

Samuels remained jailed Saturday on $1 million bail.

In a related matter, prosecutors say 21-year-old Jennifer Rauscher, of Bayville, is charged with hindering the apprehension of Samuels for allegedly providing false information to detectives investigating the shooting. She was arrested Friday afternoon and was freed after posting $100,000 bail.

A motive for the shooting of Love, a 27-year-old Bayville resident, has not been disclosed.

Authorities say Samuels allegedly fired one shot into a vehicle Love was driving in South Toms River on Monday. The shot entered his shoulder and chest, and the death was ruled a homicide.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

Authorities learned of the shooting when Love went to a hospital and sought treatment for the wound the night he was wounded.
