LINDEN — A 34-year-old Brooklyn man died Friday night after his motorcycle crashed into a car stopped at a red light, police said.

Police say Waldemar Aguilar and another motorcyclist, Samuel Hernandez, 34, of Brooklyn, lost control after they entered a turning lane for the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery entrance.

Hernandez was hospitalized with serious injuries and remained in stable condition Saturday morning.

Aguilar was on a 2000 Kawasaki while Hernandez was on a 2003 Yamaha. Both were riding south on Routes 1&9/East Edgar Road with a group of motorcycles.

Police say the two bikers lost control and hit 2014 Honda Accord after they entered the Morses Mill Road lane about 11:50 p.m. The turning lane has a concrete divider.

The crash also snarled traffic coming off westbound Route 278.

Police ask anyone with information about the accident to call Linden Police Traffic Bureau at 908-474-8505.
