Man Arrested in First Date Thefts
An Elizabeth man has been charged with stealing a dog and big screen television on his first date with a Morris County woman.
Honey Ahmed was arrested and charged with two counts of theft and held in the Morris County jail according to NJ.com.
The Dover woman met Honey online and the pair went on a date last week. "Joel," as she knew him, came back to her home. She left him alone for a time and when she came back the 23-year-old man was gone along with her terrier named Violet and a 50-inch big screen television. The TV was valued at $3,000 and the dog at $4,000.
The unidentified woman called police and a warrant was issued for his arrest. In the meantime, the TV and dog were left on her front steps. A vet determined Violet was in good health.
